Our General Price List is available in the lobby of the funeral home. We’ll also be happy to fax or e-mail it to you if you prefer.
We must, by law, provide the following disclaimers:
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), The New York State Department of Health (DOH) and the New York City Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA) require funeral providers to make certain disclosures on the General Price List.
These disclosures are similar, but are not exactly the same.
These prices are effective as of November 1, 2015 but are subject to change without notice.

However, any funeral arrangements you select will include a charge for our services and overhead. If legal or other requirements mean you must buy any items you did not specifically ask for, we will explain the reason in writing on the statement we provide describing the funeral goods and services you selected.

Your authorization is required for a funeral home to obtain custody of a body, and a body must be released promptly upon your request.
The provider of funeral services is required to give price information in person and over the telephone.
A provider of funeral services is prohibited from representing that the deterioration of human remains can be prevented for more than a limited time by embalming, caskets, vaults or outer interment receptacles.
In New York State, embalming is not required by law. If you do not want embalming, you have the right to choose an arrangement which does not require you to pay for embalming such as direct cremation or direct burial. If you select certain funeral arrangements, such as viewing or an open casket funeral, embalming may be required by the funeral firm. We are prohibited from representing that the deterioration of human remains can be prevented far more than a limited time by embalming, caskets, vaults or outer interment receptacles.
Funeral Home Expenses
Funeral Home charges are priced on the services you select and start as low as $1,295. In addition to the Funeral Home charges you would be responsible for Cash Advances.
Cash Advance Items (Payment to Other Parties)
Services and merchandise provided as cash advance items will be billed at the same amount paid by the funeral firm. We will disperse these on your behalf, or if you prefer, some of these items can be paid by yourself directly. Below are just a few examples of cash advances. These items vary by the type of funeral service selected. Depending on the nature of your funeral arrangements and on previous preparations you have made, payment to other parties might include some of the following:
- Cemetery/Crematory Charges
- Municipality Burial/Cremation Permit Fees
- Death Certificate Transcripts
- Clergy Honoraria
- Public Transportation
- Telephone & Fax Charges
- Bridge & Road Tolls
- Municipality Death Certificate Processing Fees
- Credit Card Fees
METHODS OF PAYMENT
Funeraria de la Pieta is an independently owned business. We are totally dependent upon families we serve for payment by the day before services take place. We realize the expense of caring for the death of your loved one is often unplanned and unexpected. Our Funeral Home has established a uniform payment policy to serve all families fairly.
1. Personal funds (cash or certified check)
2. Credit Card (if payment is by credit card a 5% credit card fee will be added to cash advances only)
3. Assignment from Verified Life Insurance Policy based in the United States
Being a small business and the uncertainty regarding estate payments, we are not able to file against estates for payment.
